What is Snus?
Snus (su) is a smokeless tobacco product used to deliver nicotine and flavorings. It is a popular alternative to cigarettes and has been widely adopted in Sweden and Norway, where snus use overtook smoking and has led to a dramatic decrease in smoking-related diseases.URL :https://heysnus.com/sk
The snus is soaked in a mixture of ground tobacco, water and salt. The snus is then put in the mouth, either under the lip or between the gum and cheek where it is absorbed and slowly releases nicotine over an hour or so. The snus can be kept unrefrigerated and has extended shelf life for years. It may take a few minutes for the nicotine kick to start but it is absorbed into the bloodstream faster than cigarette smoke.
The Art of Snus: Crafting and Enjoying Your Own Blend
In a longitudinal study [105] dual snus and cigarette smokers had reduced risks of respiratory disease, pancreatic cancer, diabetes and oral cancer compared to non-users. The reduced risk in dual users was attributed to lower cigarette consumption and higher snus usage.
Large transnational tobacco companies have invested heavily in snus and more recently in nicotine pouches that do not contain any tobacco leaf. These products are often confused with snus and have different health risks.
